Bikram yoga can teach students a lot about themselves mentally in the midst of working the body physically. One of the primary tenents of Bikram yoga is discipline. Teachers work to maintain a strong practice environment, and students are expected to contribute to that environment by adhering to the following guidelines:
Arrive at the studio with enough time to change and relax before class.
Wash off any strongly scented perfume or lotion prior to class.
Leave all personal belongings in a changing room cubby during class.
The doors to the studio are locked during class, and your possessions are safe.
Honor the silent practice by moving quietly into the room before class.
Our first and only official water break is after Eagle posture. After that, take water as needed. The best time to take water is between postures rather than sets of postures.
Practice silence during class, stillness between postures, and remain silent in the practice room during final Savasana.
Make every effort to stay in the room during class. If you need to take a break, lie down in Savasana until you are ready to join in again. If you must leave the room, please reenter quietly between postures.
Be aware of your fellow practitioners as you leave the room.
If you rented a mat, please leave it in the room.
If you rented a towel, please put it in the hamper by the laundry room/teacher changing area.
Thank you
